Taking Care of Restorations

  • Any restoration is going to be more prone to decay than a natural tooth.
  • The edges of restorations, especially crowns, are the perfect place for pathogenic bacteria to grow and thrive.
  • In order to keep the remaining tooth and surrounding tissue healthy and cavity free, diligent oral hygiene is critical.
  • Please pay special attention to the edges of fillings and crowns between the teeth and around the gum line.
  • Please see the following video for a demonstration of flossing underneath your bridge.
